This is a beautiful round tray from Zohiko, a long-established Kyoto lacquerware maker.
This is a wonderful piece by the 9th generation Hikohei Nishimura, blending tradition and modernity.
It is in new, unused condition, discovered during a storage clean-out. The main body has no notable damage and retains a beautiful sheen.
[Design]
The design features elegant and auspicious butterflies, depicted in gold and vermilion, dancing on a chic black lacquer.
The surface has delicate striations, similar to Koma-nuri (spinning top lacquerware), which makes scratches less noticeable and contributes to a luxurious finish suitable for everyday use.
[Condition]
Main Body: As it is unused, it is in excellent condition with no scuffs or scratches.
