IVANKO, building on the history of easy-lift plates, sought the optimal shape.
For a time, plates with two grip holes were popular, but as they became more widespread, their drawbacks also became apparent. When a user tries to lift a plate from the floor, the grip holes are not always oriented for easy lifting. The user must then rotate the plate to a more convenient position or move themselves to a position where they can lift it easily. Rotating a 20kg plate is a strenuous task, and if done with improper posture, it can lead to injuries in joints such as the lower back and wrists. On the other hand, with plates featuring multiple grip holes, users can always choose a hole that is easy to grip from any position.
IVANKO prioritized this aspect, leading to the development of the current grip-style plates.
They also paid attention to the appearance of the plates, striving to improve safety and ease of handling by giving the outer circumference of the plates a smooth, rounded finish. The current IVANKO Easy Grip Plates can be considered the culmination of ideas from the past.

☆Features of Round Weight Plates

Round plates are supported in the market, and the biggest reason for this is safety. When placing a barbell on the floor after a strenuous exercise like deadlifts, what happens if the corner of a polygonal plate makes initial contact with the floor? The plate would be unstable and would move unpredictably until a flat part (side) makes contact with the floor. It's not impossible that this dangerous movement could cause injury to the spine or joints. Once it stabilizes on the floor, you then have to return it to its designated spot without it rolling away, all while exhausted. With round plates that can be rolled, there is no such concern.
